They’ve been training! Sasuke and Sakura’s progress sounds impressive, but Naruto has made no grounds in figuring out what his training means…

SASUKE HAZ A CAT! OMG YU COPIED KISHIMOTO!-

I didn’t! It’s creepy..!

I do quite a lot of research before I write the plot, or draw stuff (well, not THAT much) anyway, I researched Raishin (the thundergod, one of the things Sasuke is based on) and found out he had a pet called Raijuu, which is most commonly a cat.

Since I designed Raijuu, Kishimoto’s used the cats as the Uchiha’s familiars, and has also shown the Raijuu as a Kirin (I won’t go into the details for those who don’t read the manga)

I could have gone with a hawk, or crow, or even a boring snake, but cat is way more awesome. Especially considering that as, in this, Sasuke also holds the dog summon contract. It’ll rain cats and dogs. Pun intended!

Naruto- has... a fox… I think his foxyness is insanely clear. There are usually foxes as his summons in fanfics, but I created Konkon to break about just all the trends considering those foxes. She’s special… she wanted to be (her name is a word for a fox’s cry in Japanese)

Sakura… a parrot. Inko means parrot in Japanese (woot complex) and he’s red because he’s based on the phoenix (you’ll see more of this later) why a parrot? Because Sakura is based on a tree and talks loads and is smart. (she also has something in common with the pheonix, but I won’t spoil!)

Oh and before anyone crits me for using a western beast- the phoenix isn’t. Along with the twelve animals of the zodiac, there are five mystical beasts – the dragon, the kitsune, the kirin, the turtle and the phoenix. *knowing grin*

Can we have a few less 'raijuu is a bijuu' comments? That's a theory that's popular on naruto fan-forums, -no-where-else-. Raijuu isn't even a species, guys! It's like saying Naruto's the Jinchuuriki of the 9-tailed thingymabob. It's fine for you guys to have theories, but don't quote them at me until they come out in the manga, it's annoying.
